Braided Yarn Wreath Tutorial

I've seen so many of those lovely yarn wreaths tutorials throughout blog land that I decided to try my hand at it - only with a twist...literally!

I did the traditional three strand braiding and then wrapped that very, very long braided strand around a wreath form. In this case, I used a straw one.

When I got to the end of a strand, I just tied another strand of yarn onto the end and kept going. This made for little nubbies showing, but I think it adds to the cuteness of the wreath.

This is also a great way to use up yarn! Someone gave me a ton of yarn, and I used a lot of it up for this pretty!

The thing I like about this braided yarn wreath is that it's pretty in and off itself, but it also looks great with embellishments added to it. For now, I've tied some of my paper mache eggs onto it. After Easter is over, I might put on some fabric or dried flowers...or just leave it as it is.

Now this did take a fair amount of time with all the braiding and wrapping, but it's a simple enough project to do while you're watching TV.
